Chesterfield CAMRA members were invited in November 2024 to nominate their three favourite pubs. The top six pubs were then put forward for the prestigious Chesterfield CAMRA Pub of the Year 2025 award. We are proud to announce the winner of the award is the Rose & CROWN Brampton. The presentation of the award was on Thursday 30th January 2025 with many members attending and enjoying the wonderful selection of ales. Well done to the top six – All amazing pubs indeed…

Situated at the top end of the ‘Brampton Mile’, The Rose & Crown provides a friendly and progressive take on the time-honoured British pub. Owned by Brampton Brewery, many of their beers can be found on cask, along with a wide selection of guest ales. This award winning pub is the former Chesterfield CAMRA Pub of the Year 2024 and the CAMRA North Derbyshire Pub of the Year 2024. There are regular real ale festivals and weekly quizzes.
ARKWRIGHT ARMS
Chesterfield Rd, Duckmanton S44 5JG
An award winning Mock Tudor fronted traditional Country pub with a large drinks selection, including Real Ales, Real Ciders and Perries. Traditional home cooked food including a specials menu. CAMRA members were quick to praise the extensive range of real ales, all in superb condition and often from local breweries like Thornbridge, Whim Ales and Ashover Brewery. A must visit pub for real ale connoisseurs.
CHESTERFIELD ARMS
Newbold Road, Chesterfield S41 7PH
A traditional pub with a modern twist. This multi award-winning brewpub is home to one of the biggest emporiums of real ale and craft beers in Derbyshire. Home to the Resting Devil micro-brewery which occupies the old space known as The Barn. Many of the cask beers are exclusive to the pub with a wide range of guest ales too. Former Chesterfield CAMRA Pub of the Year 2022 and 2023.
THE RUTLAND ARMS
23 Stephenson Place, Chesterfield S40 1XL
Located in the shadow of the Crooked Spire, the Rutland is a dog-friendly, historical pub. They hold live music events, including a monthly metal night. The Rutland features
a regularly changing line up of cask real ales from local and national breweries. You don’t have to go back so far to see the pub closed, so this transformation into one of Chesterfield’s must-visit pubs is quite remarkable indeed. Chesterfield CAMRA’s Spring Pub of the Season 2024.

A popular micropub with good friendly staff and an excellent selection of beers
and locally produced ciders. Four lines of cask ales, eight KeyKeg and an extensive bottle range. Regular tap takeovers featuring breweries not often seen in the area. Renowned for hard to find stouts, sours and IPAs. You’re almost guaranteed to find a CAMRA member enjoying their extensive range of ales. Chesterfield CAMRA Cider Pub of the Year 2023.
THE TUPTON TAP

The Tupton Tap house has built a reputation for serving great real ale once again. They have regular events including a weekly quiz, live music and pop-up food stalls.
